As the Class 10 Science board exam approaches, the last day is crucial for revision and thoughtful preparation. This is the time when students need to prepare smartly and should focus on key topics. A structured approach and a well-planned strategy will ensure clarity, accuracy, and confidence during the exam.
The CBSE Science paper is primarily balanced, and questions are asked from every chapter, with equal weighted marks given to all sections. In physics, concepts like refractive index, natural phenomena, eye defects and correction, ray diagrams and numerals based on lens and mirror formulas, series and parallel circuits are very important. Magnetic effects of Electric Current, Maxwell’s right-hand thumb rule, and Fleming’s left-hand rule are essential concepts that should be revised with real-life applications for better understanding.
In biology, students should focus on genetics, reproductive health, and energy calculations in the food chain. Well-labeled diagrams play a key role in biology, specifically in human anatomy like the heart, nephron, male and female reproductive organs etc.
Chemical reactions and equations are among the most essential topics in chemistry and must be revised thoroughly. The properties, examples, and uses of acids, bases, and salts should be memorised, along with the reactivity series. The homologous series and functional groups in organic chemistry are sure-shot areas from which questions are asked. Balanced equations should be revised repeatedly to avoid errors during the exam.
During revision, students must focus on key formulas and laws. NCERT Exemplar must be referred to during preparation, and solving previous years’ Class 10 Science question papers and CBSE sample papers keeping the marking schemes in mind is necessary. Revision mind maps for all chapters are a must.
Deep understanding of concepts will help students attempt the confusing or difficult questions with confidence. The approach is to tackle confusing questions by identifying the given values and understand what is asked. For numerical questions, it’s useful to recall the formula. For theoretical, recall definitions, diagrams and examples. The answers should be precise with scientific terminology. Writing in pointers instead of lengthy explanations helps in maintaining clarity. Drawing diagrams wherever applicable strengthens the answers.
Students should utilise the reading time mindfully. Reviewing the answer sheet before submission is critical and must be done patiently. Last but not the least, excessive use of social media and seeking wrong websites for answers must be avoided. Thoughtful preparation and confidence can ensure excellent performance in the Science exam.
