The clash between the 58-year-old former undisputed world heavyweight champion and the 27-year-old Paul flared up further on the eve of the bout during their final face-offs after the customary weigh-ins. Tempers flared when Tyson slapped Paul on the right side of the face as they came face-to-face on Thursday.

Both fighters weighed in under 230 pounds last evening, making the fight official after being postponed in July due to an ulcer flare-up for Tyson. While Paul (10-1-0) was marked at 227.2 pounds, Tyson (44-6-2) came in marginally heavier at 228.4 pounds.

The heavyweight showdown will be fought over eight two-minute rounds with each fighter using 14-ounce gloves, instead of the regular 10-ounce gloves used by heavyweight boxers to cushion the impact and slow down jabs.

The 31-year age gap between Tyson and his latest opponent Paul is the largest in professional boxing history, surpassing the 24-year gap between Archie Moore (49) and Mike DiBiase (25) during a 1963 contest.
