A 17-year-old former Oxford Academy student has become the youngest person to pass the California bar exam. Sophia was 17 years and 8 months old when she broke this record. Interestingly, this record was earlier held by her older brother, Peter, who passed it in November 2023, when he was 17 years and 11 months old.

“I am very happy and excited and I’m going to be a DDA,” Sophia Park can be heard saying in a video her brother posted on YouTube after checking her exam result.

Results from the July 2024 bar exam were released on November 8, 2024, in which Sophia became the youngest person to clear this exam. The results from the February 2025 bar exam will be released May 2, 2025. The next California bar exam is scheduled for February 25–26, 2025.

In the February 2024 California bar exam, 3944 candidates appeared and 1337 candidates passed the General Bar Examination (2‐Day). Out of these 1337, 535 were first-timers and 802 were repeaters. Similarly, 374 candidates appeared for Attorneys Examination (1‐Day) and 197 cleared. Out of these 197, 156 were first-timers and 41 were repeaters.
