With Jordan Henderson’s exit from the Saudi Pro League all but confirmed, another big name is slated to join the list of players who are reportedly discontent with their time at in Saudi Arabia.

Reports from France suggest that the former Ballon D’or winner and Real Madrid talisman Karim Benzema is looking to prematurely end his stint with Al-Ittihad and exit the Saudi League in the winter transfer window.

Despite having scored 15 goals from 24 appearances for the club, Benzema is eager leave Saudi Arabia and is exploring options during the January window.

Al Ittihad have struggled this season and are seventh in the table, 25 points behind leaders Al Hilal having won the title last season. Benzema, who has 2½ years remaining on his contract, has been criticised by the Saudi media for his performances.

SPL, which was the toast of town during the last summer transfer window, splurging £750million to bring a lot of big names into its fold, seems to have lost a lot of its aura as the year progressed. And now, there are whispers blowing in the wind that some of the players who had opted to go on this Middle-Eastern adventure are looking to end it prematurely.

England’s Jordan Henderson, who’d joined Al-Ettifaq after leaving Liverpool last season, is expected to sign for the Dutch powerhouse club Ajax.

It is also understood that Roberto Firmino and Fabinho, also former Liverpool players, are disinterested in continuing with the cash-rich league.
