BITS Pilani alumnus contributes US $1 Million as endowment fund to institute

BITS Pilani has received a US $100 Million endowment fund with a US $ 1 million contribution from an alumnus Pankaj Patel of batch of 1970-75. Patel is now the founder and CEO of Nile, based in the Bay Area, USA. Patel before founding Nile was working as a senior advisor to March Capital. He also served as the executive vice president and chief development officer at Cisco Systems.

Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani, Professor V Ramgopal Rao, said, “This contribution highlights the unwavering commitment of our alumni to the institute’s growth and development.”

Meanwhile, the applications for the BITSAT have been started. They will conclude on April 18. Interested candidates can apply for both sessions.

The BITSAT 2025 application fee depends on the number of sessions a candidate chooses to appear for and the gender of the applicant.

BITSAT is a computer-based exam comprising 130 multiple-choice questions, which should be completed in 3 hours. The exam will cover subjects including physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology (depending on the stream chosen), English proficiency, and logical reasoning.

BITSAT is conducted annually in two sessions, and candidates can choose to appear in either one or both sessions. For candidates appearing in both sessions, the higher of the two scores will be considered for preparing the merit list. During the registration process, candidates can select their preferred exam centre, date, and time slot.
