CUET UG 2024: The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) for admission into various undergraduate programmes is a challenging exam that demands thorough preparation, especially for those attempting the mathematics exam. Class 11 lays the foundation for many of the topics covered in CUET Math. Let us delve into the essential Class 11 topics that are crucial for scoring well in the CUET Math exam.

Before we explore the key Class 11 topics, it is essential to understand the structure of the CUET Math exam. The test is entirely computer-based and comprises 85 multiple-choice questions to be answered within 45 minutes. Speed and accuracy are paramount as each correct answer fetches +5 marks, while a penalty of 1 mark is incurred for every wrong answer.

The exam is divided into two sections: Section A and Section B. Section A encompasses 15 questions from Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, requiring aspirants to answer all of them. Section B further divides into B1 and B2, where students must answer 25 out of 35 questions in each subsection.

1. Algebra: Algebra forms the bedrock of many mathematical concepts. Aspirants can expect 2-3 questions from topics such as quadratic equations, polynomial functions, and progressions.

2. Differential Equations: The understanding of basic differential equations is crucial. Questions related to first order and second-order differential equations are commonly tested. Students can expect 2-3 questions on this topic.

3. Probability & Probability Distribution: Probability concepts and distributions play a significant role. Aspirants should focus on topics like conditional probability, binomial distribution, and normal distribution. Students can expect 2-3 questions on this topic.

4. Linear Programming: Basic principles of linear programming, including formulation and graphical solution, are vital. Expect 2-3 questions testing your application of these concepts.

5. Numbers Quantification and Numerical Applications: This topic involves the understanding of numbers, their properties, and their application in real-world scenarios. Aspirants can expect 3-4 questions from this section.

6. 3D Geometry and Vectors: Topics such as coordinate geometry, vectors, and three-dimensional geometry are crucial. Questions may include applications of vectors and properties of 3D shapes. Aspirants can expect 4-5 questions from this section.

7. Integrals and Calculus: Aspirants should have a solid grasp of integration and calculus. Questions may cover definite and indefinite integrals, differentiation, and applications of calculus. Aspirants can expect 4-5 questions from this section.

8. Relations and Functions: A significant portion of the exam is dedicated to relations and functions, with an expected 4-5 questions. Understanding domain, range, and mapping is crucial.

Aspirants must prioritise these key concepts, paying special attention to algebra, differential equations, probability, linear programming, and various other sections. The time constraint demands not only a profound knowledge of the subjects but also a strategic approach to solving problems swiftly and accurately. By mastering these Class 11 topics, candidates can enhance their chances of excelling in the CUET Math exam and securing admission to prestigious central universities.
