Devara director ‘would love to see Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor’ in the sequel: ‘I don’t know whether that can happen or not’
Despite opening to mixed responses — contrary to the expectations of its makers — director Koratala Siva’s Devara: Part 1, featuring NT Rama Rao Jr (popularly known as Jr NTR), Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, continues to perform well at the box office and is inching closer to the Rs 500 crore gross worldwide milestone right now.
Meanwhile, Siva and his team have already begun discussions about Devara: Part 2, a sequel to the action drama, much to the excitement of Jr NTR fans. Nonetheless, the director is fully aware of the significant responsibility this entails, requiring extensive and meticulous planning, and he recently said he is committed to ensuring the project is successful.

Interestingly, unlike many recent big-budget films, Devara does not include cameo appearances from big stars. It seems that Siva is not interested in that, but wishes to bring on board some prominent names from the film industry for Devara 2 to play key roles. “I won’t say cameos also, they are very important characters in the film and we are going to unveil very soon, character by character,” Siva told Zoom when asked if the sequel will have guest appearances by any of the superstars.
Siva, nevertheless, did not refrain himself from revealing the list of actors he wishes to rope in for Devara 2. “Actually, I have my own wish list. I don’t know whether that can happen or not. To be very honest, I would love to see Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor in the world of Devara. I won’t take too many names from the Telugu or Tamil industries. If I reveal some names there will be too much of assumptions and speculations,” he added.
Also starring Prakash Raj, Srikanth and Shine Tom Chacko in key roles, Devara: Part 1 hit the screens on September 27 and as of Monday, the movie has grossed over Rs 466 crore globally. In his review of the movie, The Indian Express’ Avinash Ramachandran wrote, “The Jr NTR film starts off really strong, only to suffer an extended downward slide that is finally salvaged by a bloody finale that is equal parts engaging and outlandish.”
