DRDO Internship 2025: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) offers various internship opportunities to graduate and postgraduate students with science to engineering backgrounds. The programmes aim to give aspirants hands-on exposure to cutting-edge research and development (R&D) in defence technology. It is through the college or university, that a student applies to the internship opportunity at DRDO.

It is also pertinent to note that only those candidates who are between the age group of 19 and 28 years are eligible. Along with relevant degree background from a recognised college or university. For some high-tech research opportunities, students are shortlisted based on the marks they received during the tenure of their course.

The notice by DRDO for interns also mentions that those selected for the opportunity will be permitted access only to unclassified areas of DRDO Labs/Establishments. It also mentions that the Organisation cannot offer employment to the interns based on training. The training period ranges from 4 weeks to 6 months, depending on the type of course, however, it is subject to the discretion of the lab director.

“DRDO will not be liable for any compensation in case of personal injury caused by an accident arising out of and in the course of the student’s attachment to DRDO Labs/Establishments.” mentioned the notification.

DRDO operates over 50 laboratories and establishments across India, each specializing in different areas of defence research and development. These labs provide internship opportunities for students pursuing degrees in engineering, science, and related fields.

Interested candidates will need to make their resume, and cover letter. These should also mention the academic records of the candidate with recommendation letters, if any. This letter can be given by professors, or from the organisation where the candidate has worked previously.
