
JEE Main Result 2024: Will cut-off for JEE Advanced increase this year? Check previous year trends
JEE Main 2024: The JEE Main cut-off marks last year under all the categories except for the General- PWD category have increased. The JEE Main cut-off last year for the Common Rank List, or General category, students has gone up from 88.4121383 in 2022 to 90.7788642 in JEE Main in 2023.
Therefore, the candidates can also expect a rise in the JEE Main 2024 cut-off.
The JEE Main cut-offs depend on multiple factors. The number of total candidates appearing the JEE Main exam, availability of seats at the participating institutions, previous year’s trends and the difficulty level of the exam play an important role in deciding the cut-off.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) — which conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) — was expected to announce the JEE Main 2024 result on February 12 but the website has not updated any link as of yet. The registration for the second session is underway and will continue till March 2. The JEE Main session 2 exam is set to be held in April. The top 2.5 lakh candidates will become eligible to register for JEE Advanced.
After JEE Advanced 2024 results are declared, the JoSAA counselling process will start. While the JEE Mains 2024 qualified candidates will become eligible to apply online for JoSAA counselling for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other technical institutions, JEE Advanced qualified candidates can apply for admission to IITs, NITs and other institutions.
