PM Modi to inaugurate IIM Sambalpur’s permanent campus on Feb 3

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur today, February 3. The Union Minister of Education and Social Justice, Dharmendra Pradhan will also be present during the inauguration. The new permanent campus is set up at Basantpur

The newly constructed IIM Sambalpur campus is equipped with the “state-of-the-art infrastructure” including auditoriums, libraries, sports zones, incubation centres and hostels. All these are designed to meet the administrative, faculty and academic requirements, and emphasises sustainability, a statement on the Ministry of Education’s X (former Twitter) said.

The inauguration ceremony of the IIM Sambalpur permanent campus will be attended by around 4,000 people including students, staff and teachers of IIM-S.

The institute, according to an official statement, has implemented astronomical timers for external lighting and a high BEE star rating, aiming to cut electricity consumption by 55 per cent. IIM-S has also implemented an on-site wastewater treatment system. The institute also has a rooftop photovoltaic solar power plant, it added.
