Diljit Dosanjh pays tribute to Ratan Tata: The news of former Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata’s demise came as a shock for the nation. People from all walks of life have been sharing their tributes to the business icon and philanthropist. Singer Diljit Dosanjh paused his Dil-Luminati World Tour’s Germany show last evening and expressed his grief at Ratan Tata’s death.

Diljit Dosanjh is currently touring in Europe, and while performing on stage in Germany, the singer paused the show to pay tribute to Tata. In clip from the concert, Diljit can be seen talking in Punjabi, Hindi and English from the stage.

Diljit Dosanjh started by addressing Tata’s passing. He added that he felt it was necessary to pay tribute to him. Diljit said that from everything that he has read or heard about Tata, he does not remember the business icon ever speaking ill of anyone. “He always worked hard, did good work, and helped people,” said Diljit in Punjabi.

Diljit went on to share that there is a lot to learn from Tata’s life. “Bedaag apni life jee ke gaye woh (He lived his life without blemish),” Diljit shared, adding, “Yahi zindagi hai (This is life). If we can learn something from his life, it is that we need to work hard, help others.”

Ratan Tata passed away on October 9 at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. His funeral will be held on Thursday.
