Despite being married to one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, Sunny Deol, Pooja Deol has consistently chosen to stay away from the limelight. Sunny has also rarely spoken about her in interviews, respecting her privacy. It wasn’t until their son Karan Deol’s wedding in 2023 that many fans saw Pooja for the first time. Recently, Karan once again delighted fans by sharing a glimpse of a sweet moment with his mother.

The Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas actor posted a photo with his mom, expressing how much he cherishes their time together. In the caption, he wrote, “Best time is time spent with your mom.” Sunny Deol commented on the post with heart emojis.

Much like Sunny, his father and veteran star Dharmendra, also kept his first wife — Sunny and Bobby Deol’s mother, Prakash Kaur — away from public attention. In a previous interview, Sunny explained that staying out of the public eye was a choice both his mother and wife made for themselves. Praising Pooja as ‘her own person who makes her own decisions,’ Sunny told Deccan Chronicle, “Neither my mother nor my wife was forced to stay away from the limelight. My wife is her own person. She has always had the liberty to make her own decisions. To not make public appearances is her own call. Like I said, neither my father nor I have forced the women in our family to follow our rules.”

Sunny and Pooja have been married for 40 years, having tied the knot in 1984, just a year after his debut film Betaab was released. Their marriage was kept secret until their wedding photos were leaked in a magazine.

During Karan Deol’s wedding, he shared rare family photos, featuring his grandmother Prakash Kaur and his mother, alongside other family members. He captioned the photos, “Grateful for the abundant blessings and the support of our cherished family, with hearts overflowing, we express gratitude and gratefulness.”

On the professional front, Sunny Deol made a massive comeback last year with the hugely successful Gadar 2. The actor is currently busy shooting for Lahore 1947, a film bankrolled by Aamir Khan and also starring Preity Zinta. Sunny will also be seen in Border 2.
