Today in politics: PM Modi to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda in Bihar; Rahul to hold two rallies in Jharkhand
Union Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J P Nadda will be in Maharashtra on Friday to campaign for the November 20 polls.
Shah will address three rallies at Hingoli, Umerkhed and Chandrapur while Nadda will visit the Gurdwara Sri Dashmesh Darbar in Thane before holding a booth sampark meeting with beneficiaries. He will then hold two meetings with intellectuals in Thane.
All 288 Assembly seats in the state will go to the polls on November 20 in a single phase, the results of which will be announced three days later.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi will be in Jharkhand on Friday.
Gandhi is scheduled to address two public meetings. He will address a public meeting in Godda after which he will proceed to Bokaro, where he will address another public meeting.
Thirty-eight of the state’s 81 Assembly seats will go to the polls on November 20 in the second and final phase, the results of which will be announced on November 23.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jamui in Bihar to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, a towering figure in the freedom struggle and an iconic leader for tribal empowerment.
Union minister Jual Oram said, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India declared November 15th — the birthday of the revered tribal freedom fighter Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda — as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in 2021.
He will also lay foundation prstones for development ojects worth over Rs 6,640 crore, focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, education, and livelihood generation in tribal regions among others.
Meanwhile, Modi will also inaugurate the first Bodoland Mahotsav on Friday at the SAI Indira Gandhi Sports Complex here and address a gathering on the occasion, his office said.
The second phase Congress’ month-long ‘Delhi Nyay Yatra’ will kick off from Chandni Chowk on Friday as it plans to put pressure on the AAP government on various issues to regain its lost ground in the city ahead of the assembly polls due early next year.
Senior Congress leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and K C Venugopal, are likely to attend the yatra, which will traverse through 16 Assembly seats in the second phase.
