— It was established by the Government of India at Gurugram in 2018 to address this need to promote collaboration for maritime safety and security. Hence, statement 2 is correct.
— Indian Navy units are being deployed in strategic waters in Djibouti, Gulf of Aden, East Coast of Somalia as well as in the North and Central Arabian Sea for protection of merchant vessels in view of the regional maritime security situation.
— The Centre’s goal is to promote regional maritime security by developing a single coherent maritime status picture and serving as a hub for sharing maritime security information. Since its foundation, the Centre has built 67 connections across 25 nations.
