Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video box office collection day 5: Rajkummar Rao-Triptii Dimri’s raunchy comedy nears Rs 25 crore

Rajkummar Rao’s latest comedy, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, has had a lukewarm reception at the box office since its debut in cinemas on October 11. Despite being released after the success of Stree 2, the film has failed to live up to expectations.

According to industry tracking website Sacnilk, after a decent opening opening weekend collection of Rs 18 crore, the Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri-starrer witnessed a significant 30% drop on Monday, earning only Rs 2.4 crore. The Sunday collection was around Rs 6 crore, and the film has struggled to maintain momentum since then, with Tuesday’s collection being Rs 2.15 crore. The film’s nett total earnings stand at Rs 23.35 crore.

Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video released in cinemas during the extended Dussehra holiday weekend, but this didn’t help. The film has been losing its theatrical footprint daily. In Mumbai, where the film opened with 587 shows, it now has 524 shows and the occupancy was observed was 14.75%. In Delhi and NCR, the occupancy stood at 10.25% for 902 shows (There were 993 shows on the day the film debuted in the national capital).

The box office contest between Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Vasan Bala’s Jigra — starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina — has turned into a struggle for survival. Jigra is faltering, with a meager collection of Rs 1.6 crore on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, several reports suggest that Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, marketed as a mass entertainer, has been hampered by its title, which may have led viewers in smaller cities to deem it unfit for family viewing resulting in both the films struggling for audience attention.

With no major competition until the release of Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar, and Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starrig Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri, this Diwali, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video will need to regain traction to achieve significant box office success. The film’s future remains precarious, and sustaining its current pace will be a significant challenge.
